This is a ^bump^ up of an oldie but goodie from the past, as I keep getting questions about the kit and the springs. If this is against the rules (or ettiquite), sorry...

OLD POSTS:
Drove down to Park Ave Acura today and got my springs (sorry Snook, there's no way I was going to do these myself!). The car handles 100% better, and it is not so low that is scrapes everything. I took before and after pictures at certain points on the car. Check them out. After driving 160 miles home with them (esp on the Merrit Parkway), I would STRONGLY suggest them to anyone. The ride is NOT that much rougher.

Thank you for the information, but I have a few questions. Which springs did you get (as in the manufacturer)? Do you have before and after pic of the fender to tire gap? and is that the body kit that is offered by the dealer?
Thank you again for posting the pics.

ZodiakTL - The Acura kit cost me about $1,200 installed, I got it when I bought the car. I do not know what it would cost w/o installation. Maybe Snook has one you can put on yourself.
sneuxstorm - They are the CompTech Springs, and the ACURA official body kit. I do not have a real good side shot comparison, YET!
driver - I actually hit a few good ones in NJ. The car held straight on course, the feeling in the car was not too bad, but there was no bounce. It's more like a "feel the road" type of thing.
The weirdest thing was the first time I got out of the car after leaving the dealership. WOW! That was a strange feeling.
THANKS TO WAYNE & JENS & TOM @ Park Ave!!!
(I got a cool blue shirt!)

Your car looks absolutely stunning! The Comptech springs drop it just enough... and the factory body kit is by far the nicest one available for the TL/TL-S IMO.
After owning a black car I swore I'd never do it again.. but your pics reminded me of how awesome they look when they're clean... very tempting!

Those pictures are cool! You need to take a few in the open and in the sun, though. How do you like your intake? It looks great. Did you notice and difference?

Well, I am hoping for some sunshine this weekend. I live in oregon you know, and there is not a lot of sun. Lot's of liquid sunshine if you know what I mean. The intake is awesome. I am loving the intake, springs, and the exhaust. Very large improvement over stock. The sound alone is worth the purchase. I promise that I will post some pics when its sunny.

Damn, this is a good site!
That's it. I'm getting the springs, and losing the wheel gap. I've started negotiations with the local dealer, and all of the prices and links that have been provided at this site are going to be invaluable in keeping the price reasonable. The CompTech pricelist at www.parkaveacura.com will be especially helpfull.
One question about the springs, are there any problems with keeping the OEM shocks? The home page of this site even says that the OEM shocks should not be used with sport springs. Does this apply to the CompTech springs?
Oblio, this is a very good thread. I would like to see more pictures of your bad-ass car in the sun light. I'm going to do just about everything you and Zodiak are doing, but in silver. By the way, why not check out www.comptechusa.com and order some window stickers? You know, for the NASCAR look?

It is sunny out today and I am going to do one last round of pictures and post them via a Photopoint link. I'm sure some people here are sick of seeing my pictures!
I did not have the shocks replaced. I'm POSITIVE that the folks at Park Avenue Acura would have warned me if that was not a good idea. You can check with Wayneg or Jens to be sure.
Thanks for the kind words...

You kick ass Oblio. Actually you suck,
I am now forced to get springs in the very very near future. All because of you!!!!!!! I talked to Wayne of Parke Ave, and he told me they would honor the warranty on the shocks up to the 50k 5 year limit even if dropped, so there are no excuses left to no t get em. Damn you and this board!!!!!!!..........JK
I am going to send this to the FAQ's right now before I forget.

I just spoke to someone over at Comptech...he told me that after installing the springs you need to get an alignment done to double check that the tow is set right or it may effect tire wear. Has anyone who has the springs installed had uneven wear without an alignment? I'm doing it myself and being that I work durring the day it will be hard for me to find a place to do the alignment after work. Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

They are 100% correct. 99% of people who drop their car without getting an alignment blow their tires due to incorrect toe, not camber, and then blame it on camber. You'll survive a few days without getting the alignment, but get it done when you can, and recheck it in a month or two as it may change as the springs settle.
