Thumbs up Got my H&R's put on today

Well i got my H&R Sports installed this morning, and when i went to pick it up i was very pleased with the look of the car, i made me realize how ugly those wheel gaps are. I really like how the firm the ride is and the improvement in handling, but i need to get used to slowing down before hitting dips in the road. I can almost fit two fingers in the back, and i can fit two in the front. Ill try and post some pics if i get a hold of a digi cam.

Sweet. Update us after you got some miles on them.

I'm hoping to have my H&R OE Sport Springs installed within the next two weeks.

Yeah.

One is made by H&R Springs.
The other is made by Comptech.

:p

Seriously, though, this type of question has been answered numerous times. Try searching.

There is a slight difference in the rear drop with Comptech (it's not as low as the H&Rs) which gives it a raked look (some like it that way). The technical difference is that with Comptechs you probably won't need a camber kit, with H&R Sports you probably need a camber kit.

All in all, they all look good.

you know when i look at it, it seems that it is raked alittle bit, it also looks like when i get the kit in a few months the car is gonna be really low, but thats what i wanted. Now its time to save up for some headers

Hey JD7,

Could you tell me EXACTLY how much the drop of your car with the H&R Sports Spring?

I am interested in lowering my TL-S but am afraid the drop may be too severe because I already have the oem bodykits. Also, will installing springs void my warranty?

Thanks.

wut is the difference? i was going to go CT but have decided on H&R to save money and plus i heard the ride on the two are about the same... y would the H&R need a camber kit? isn't the drop almost exactly the same?

Well im not sure exactly how low it is, ill measure it for you one of these days, after the springs settle some more. But i do know that if i get the kit on my car wont be able to go through automatic car washes cuz the kit would hit the rail that helps pull you through, unless the kit isnt as low as i think it is, anyone else know?

I suppose you got the H&R Sport springs? I got those too. After they settle, you'll probably fit only one finger. I can barely fit one in the front and none in the back of my TL... I also had to get rear camber kit for it.

I got sports too, they are good. They settled not too bad, finger and a half all the way around.

I got the SPC ones, they're great. After you get a 4 wheel alignment, yes you get a big difference... The rear wheels are back to stock specs.

Did any of you guys have to roll your fenders when you did your drops? I'm looking at my TL and I'm thinking if I were to drop it, even with HR OE, i'll probably have some rubbing. Don't think my tire will fit into the wheel well if I hit a large bump or sit 3 people in the back... at least that's what it looks like to me.

what springs do most people with 19's get? i want to get springs that won't rub but at the same time, don't have a big gap... the OE's sound safe for the rubbing part cuz it drops less than an inch but i'm afraid that the gap will be too big... im assuming it will be about an inch when they settle though no?

Alot of people do do the HNRs with 19s on them but they usually have to do some mods so theres no rubbing...

While we're on the topic of camber kits, what's the difference between the ones selling for $50 on Ebay versus those selling for $150 and up? I'm going to drop with H&R Sports and I'm expecting to need at least a rear camber kit.
Thanks in advance
