Getting Rotors Turned

Sup Guys, I'm brining in my car this Friday to get my rotors turned under warrenty. My question is do they replace the brake pads free of charge also?

ask them to and they should. They replaced my rotors and pads at 12k miles when i had the problem. Of course, they said it was a one time only freebie. When it happened again at 25k miles, i didnt feel like fighting with 'em about it (plus i figured it was only going to keep happening) so i ditched the OEM rotors and got Brembo blanks and Hawk pads from tirerack.com for $208 shipped and put them on myself.

If the problem doesnt happen again I will be perfectly happy having paid out of pocket rather than dealing with this annoying and time consuming issue.

The service bulletin notes the pads are the cause of the premature rotor problems. You should get new pads...

Do you know if they replace them with the same brand pads or have they switched to a better kind?

They came out with a new composition for the OEM pad starting in 2002, but it didnt make any difference. Thats why i put on aftermarket pads after the problem came back again.

I've put a lot of miles on my new pads/rotors--27k in fact. I've had ZERO issues and I drive very hard. I just put new pads on about 2 weeks ago just for the h=ll of it as I'm going to get some better looking rotors in the next month or so, but functionally, I've had no issues after I got the new pads/rotors...

do you mind telling us which brake pads and rotors you put on?
I'm wondering whether the braking power would make a difference from one set of brakes to the other?

I find the Stock Brakes on not particularily bad, but my old TL stopped 100 times faster.

What do you guys suggest i do the next time my brakes go out?

Um, it's in my sig...
Stock rotors for now, endless pads...The pads do have more bite to them and a better feel, but I doubt the stopping distance is affected all that much...I'll probably get the Comptech rotors as the upgrade, but I'm still debating...

I found the brakes to be perfectly fine after the new composite Acura pads were installed, but with the mods added, I can overdrive the brakes way too easily...
