Gettin used to the car?

I have had my type-s for 7 months now. How many of you have just gotten used to your cars power? Car was fast as hell it seemed when I got it, but now its so so. I dont think its anything wrong with the car since I have no check engine light and am getting great gas milege. I am at the point I am looking to do some upgrades to get the feeling back. Anyone in the same situation?

I am. I went from a 140hp Dodge Spirit that I had since I was 16 to the TL-P with 225Hp. Now it feels like I need to add some bolt-ons since I've gotten used to it. I've had my TL for about 6mos now.

I didnt have that extreme of a change. I went from a 200 hp maxima 5speed to this. Have you gotten any upgrades yet?

I was starting to get used to my Type-S, so I did the Injen CAI and now it feels better. But now Im want even more power after seeing what the intake did, so now after my Tein SS is installed I'm gonna have to buy pullies, headers, exhaust, thermoblock spacers and an APEXi NEO. lol

I agree, the power is there, I just dont feel the "push back" no more.. But I'm bone stock, with some heavy ass 18"s, but I'm going to upgrade to lightweight 18's soon..

the 18s are probably killing ur power and maybe ur tranny if they are too heavy...and i have I/E/H/P/S and i still want more power lol...the apexi neo and mayeb a port and polished intake mainfold and throttle body maybe next on my list!

Doesn't feel all that fast, 1st gear still seems to pull pretty well, but thats it. However, when I drive in other peoples cars, they usually feel rather slow...

I noticed another thread where OP races the car often- a seafoam treatment and new set of NGK Iridium spark plugs if the car has over 50k miles on it- will restore lost power

I put in the iridiums about 3k miles ago and also did a seafoam treatment right befor that. Did help with response and smoothness. Not so much with added power.

How often can you really push the car to its full potential for any great length? If you wanna have some fun throw it into SS mode and hold the shift a little longer. Or tack it around turns. There's plenty of room of that. Just don't go driving off into a ditch.

Other than getting headers, pulley, and spacers I am going to focus on suspension/handling work since I realize that this car isn't a 1/4 mile beast. (Yea yea, dirtyjohn and his bored out juiced up car :P hehe) Then sell it, ha.

A 2nd seafoam treatment is suggested at 3000 miles after the first one to do a little more cleaning

Toss a full can- I mean empty contents of 1 pint can seafoam into 1/4 tank of gas to scrub injector spray pattern

Hey did you notice a difference when you added the V2 intake? Thinking about getting that and then some shocks and springs soon.

I've had my TL-S for over 6 yrs now (when it came out) ... I guess I'm "used" to it. LOL.

I will advise anyone ... upgrade the suspension ... sways will add a new dimension to the car. Springs / shocks / coilovers may help a bit (especially nose dive with heavier braking) but sways, by far ... best handling mod to the car.
