Gap in Rear Factory Bodykit
Just bought my TL-S with the Acura bodykit and spoiler. :p
The rear skirt doesn't seem to fit right. There is a significant gap between the rear skirt corners and the car body. Does anybody else have this gap?
I'm thinking about taking the car back in to either get the rear skirt adjusted or a new piece put on.

Yep, I have the same problem too. The dealer tried to adjust it as much as he could but to no avail; said the mold used to create the rear skirts probably weren't spec'd out properly. One other person with the same problem was a bit luckier as there was a bit more space to realign the mounting holes so that the skirt would fit flush with the rear bumper.
As much as I would have liked the dealer to have fixed the problem in its entirety, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over the small gap--you can't see it unless you're looking right up to the bumper corner.

I noticed this same problem after I installed mine. It seems the corners bowed out after installing the top screw in the wheel well behind the rear wheel. I think if you remove the screw, make the bodykit flush with the bumper, drill a pilot hole, and then use a spacer of some sort (a small washer or 2) before re-installing the screw, that should do the trick.
Or it may be that a spacer isn't necessary and that it's just that a new hole needs to be made.
I haven't had a chance to fix mine but that's what I plan to do. But if the dealer installed it, get them to fix it.

sorry that you've noticed it too...
I too have noticed the problem...in fact, someone here once called Acura and they said that they've notice the mis-fit as well...but there's nothing they can do about it...
I guess we'll just have to suck it up..

I have seen this problem several times now and it seems that some kits are simply molded in such a fashion that causes it.One thing I have found that may help in some instances is this.Loosening all the fasteners first then add a few spacers/washers where the rear kit is attached to the wheel opening. This is the spot where screws are used.Place the washers between the bumper cover and the aerokit.you may haver to use longer screws to reattach the kit to the bumper cover. Then starting at the center of the car work your way around to the sides off the car tightening the fasteners as you go.Sometimes slightly enlarging the mounting holes in the rear aero part is helpful and will allow a better fit,The only donside to this is that where the kit is attached inb the wheel opening there is now a gap with spacres/washers visible.Use some body colored touch up etc to cover this up as much as possible.Jens
