Thumbs up G35, DAmmmnnn

So i was comming home today, and i saw a Black G35 behind me switchin lanes quickly. I always wondered just how fast these things were, so as he pulled up i could see he had rebadged his car to say Skyline as many owners are doing now and he had at the very least an exhaust system, i looked over and gave him a nod and we were off, all i have to say is DAMNNN, that car is sooo quick, if anyone was ever wonderin if they could beat a g35 manual, i hope you have some mods, i managed to stay withn half a car length most of the time and he wasnt very good at controlling his car at high speeds so i mangaged to get up, but i definitly had to work at it and if he was a good driver, i woulda lost by even more. That car still hauls after 120.

He rebaged it because its called a skyline in Japan. Those things are quick compared to the TL, but they still have a 1/4 mile close to the TL. Im sure an A-spec will be able to hang with it.

Why would having an A-Spec make a difference?

Both the '03 TL-S A-Spec (available only in Canada) and the '04 TL A-Spec have no performance mods to make the car faster. The '04 TL A-Spec has better brakes for autos and tighter springs to get the car to sit lower ... but nothing like the extra 35hp that the Type S has over the TL-P.

No man...he's talking about the special edition's like my a-spec...jokes!!!

Nah man, the A-Spec is just as fast as a Type S. If anything, the A-Spec has a few accessories that may actually make it heavier...but I mean we're talking like 50 lbs here...

the A-Spec and TL-S are mechanically identical...

don't mess with a G35C 6spd...they are just plain...fast!!!

I don't like the looks of those G cars. But what I like about them is that sound out of their mufflers. I wish we can get that sound for a TL.

Our TL's are better in braking, workmanship, cockpit, looks, etc. Those G cars can go fast, but we'll out last them for sure.

So we've deduced that a car which is only 2 years old won't outlast a TL. Interesting.

You have no idea what you are spouting! The G has much better braking than the TL and their rotors don't warp under normal driving! workmanship is debateable and I haven't been to the G site lately but plenty of people bitch here about their creaks and rattles. Cockpit and looks are subjective but I would garner that most think the G coupe looks better than the TL. Oh and I'm willing to bet that 99% of the G's on the road have lasted longer (or will) than my TLS' tranny did.

A stock TL-S will probably lose to a stock g35 sedan and coupe w/auto or stick

A modded TL-S and 04 TL will probably be a driver's race in auto or stick since they are so close in performance-wise.

Yeah but with my experiences with that car, our car keeps up nicely till about 100 and then the G35 begins to walk away, so our cars die there and the power is continued in the G35, this is not just from one race but multiple runs. I have a stock TL-S. Modded, I dont see it being much different unless we're talking Super Charger.

Yes i did notice they do make a nice sound out of those exhaust. Just notice it today when i say a blk 35c. Any idea on how we can get the same sound out of our TLs? I already have mufflers but the sound is nice and a little deep but quiet as well. I think it might be the resonater anybody?

stock g35 sedan is not faster than a stock Tl-s they are running about the same. on 0-60 sec time and 1/4 time..although the g35c, theres no match

I've run against G35 Sedans on the highway (presumably autos) when I was stock and we were pretty much even although I don't think we got past 100mph. The G35 Sedan for having the same HP as the TL-S but more torque doesn't seem to be able to utilize it as well ... Maybe the gearing isn't as aggressive as the TL-S? If you look at the 1/4 mile numbers from stock G35 Sedans you'll see that they hold up. Magazine numbers range from a 14.7-14.9, while the TL-S was running about a 14.8... So they're pretty even although the G35 sedan might have the advantage 0-60 because of the RWD.

A G35 Sedan 6spd is going to walk away from a TL-S, and I'd assume the AWD G35 is gonna have the advantage down low on the TL-S.

2 things

1) '04 A-Spec has more horsepower, not just suspension mods "Reworked from top to bottom, this high-powered TL shows what Acura can do when it sets its mind on performance. The stock TL's already potent 3.2-liter V6 was modified with a high-flow intake, free-flowing exhaust and some internal improvements that yield an extra 30 horsepower for a total of 300"

2) G35 coupe, 280hp, 280lb.... now way a TL-S is hangin, not even an '04 TL... not enough grunt....

happy hunting
