new navi disc

so i borrowed my friend's new navi disc for the 02 TL.. it seems to be slower than my old disc (perhaps cuz it has a lot more data on it) does anyone have the same experience? do you guys know when the dual layer burner comes out? i compared my disc to my friend's and the old disc has 3.6GB or so on it.. but the new one has 6.x GB so I'm pretty sure its on a dual layer. Do you think it'll work if I copy all the files onto my hard drive at home, and just burn it onto the new DL DVD when it comes out?

I heard that once you use a new version of a disc, for some reason, you can't go back to the old disc. Is that true, or is that BS that Acura is putting out there so people don't use "back up" versions of the newer discs?

You need a dual layer DVD burner to burn the navi disc..which I believe won't be out for another couple months or so..

Once you load the new DVD into your system..in order for you to switch back to an older version, you need to have the dealer reset/do something to your navi. system..so yes, you can go back to using an older version.
