funny issue

Since day one when I bought this car...02 TLS I have noticed that on someday the car flies and is light....then someday I notice that it is heavy and hardly wants to accelerate.

It has done this for the past three trannies I had.

Anyone ever had this with there TLS

Thanks

Hmmm...does it correlate to high tides? More gravitational pull?

some days the car would feel really fast and light, and then somedays it will feel heavy and sluggish......you think it might be the IAT sensor on the air temp reading?

I know slightly less about how cars work than I do about how to launch the space shuttle, but I was listening to a program yesterday on barometric pressure and humidity -- does this vary significantly where you live from day to day? And, if anyone actually does have a clue, would the amount of moisture in the air affect how the engine functions? I'm only thinking this -- as a complete novice -- because of how a car engine uses air.

it must have something to do with the air temperature, and it feels like the air filter is choking.

Air conditioning has some thing to do with it ...my car feels a bit lighter when A/C is off. Engine oil ... my 02 TL-P run a lot better when the oil stick level is in between min-max .
Same thing with my A/T fluid ... always run and warm the fluid and I make sur the level is between minium and maximum ......

You know wow I thought I was the only one. I totally notice the same thing. I thought maybe it was just me, the mood I was in that day or whatever. I had my tranny replaced and it does shift smoother but yes somedays it is just sluggish a bit. I also have the issue of low MPG and I thought maybe it was related to this but when I had my car at the dealership I asked them to check the car over and they said it was fine. As others have stated weather may play a big part in this.

i think it may be our IAT sensor, it senses the air coming in. can we relocate it?

i know with the AEM V2 you can

what are the pros and cons

thanks

Do it like me ..Check and make sur engine oil and A/T fluid level are in the middle of min-max..... You will notice a defferent ...
By the way 99% of the time we over fill them and if so the compression is bad or weak 'cause volume ratio inside the engine/transmision ........

i put it slightly over the line by a lil bit because vtec kills some oil pretty quickly. I felt the sluggish also and sometimes feel light. i feel light when my gas is almost at empty.

Our cars have highly efficient engines in them. Weather / Gas quality effects the VA ROOM feeling. I have noticed the same thing. With the wild weather changes here in Western North Carolina there are days that the car feels like a dog and other days that the quickness/power seems awesome!

yeah i know...i wonder if there is any work around for this.....i guess you will need someone who knows how to tune cars.

but those sluggish days really kills me, it's like the car is a 4 cyl

anyone tried to fix that issue?

thanks

my car always runs great/better on some gas. Also check your tire pressure. This is time of the year that air pressure in your tires should be checked. Temperature changes effect tire pressure. I checked mine this morning. I usually run 34 in the front and 32 in the back. The front tires were down to 32 PSI. Adjusting the air pressure will decrease or increase rolling resistence. If your car is running like a 4 cylinder then you have other issues.
