I've been browsing around for the past few days since i'm inheriting a 99 TL in a few weeks. 89k, babied it's whole life.

Dumb ?... i've seen references to the TL -P, obviously this is a Non- Type S version... but does it carry any additional significance? Searching for TL -P wasn't very helpful.

Additionally... has anyone had any luck sourcing 6sp TL/CL S tranny's from recycler's/ junkyards... they seem way more abundant than some other honda tranny's i've got my hands on, but still a bit more costly than expected. Any leads appreciated.

Thanks,

D

I"m new here, too, but from what I can tell, the P designation is for the TL- Premium model.

Search for TL and it is usually a TLP unless specifies TLS.

Are you looking for a 6 speed to swap with your auto? If so, looks at fsttyms thread on his swap. Kris (fsttyms) is one of the most tech savvy and knowledgeable guys on the site, esp w/2nd gen TL, and it was a process.

Good luck if you go for the swap.

Tranny swap is very straightforward, just looks a little pricy at this point. I guess i'm just trying to decide whether or not keep or sell the TL considering the life expectancy of the tranny.
