Front bumper

Ok, So I searched and searched, but I've never removed my bumper before, & I really want to remove my resonator, getting the bolts off is the easy part, but other then the bolts there are these black clips that are like a pain to get off... I've tried a flathead and no luck at all.

Does anyone know any tips to removing these black clips for the bumper?

The can be quite tough to get off if they have never been removed or budged before since new. Try spraying some kind of lubricant or pb blaster. They could have grit in them or something that has seized them. I may have broken a few of mine while trying to take them off, but they're cheap to replace and can be found at any parts store. The new ones are much easier to remove too.

Also, maybe try taking a nice wide flathead and sticking it underneath, then turning it on its side.

Yeah, So I went to my friends garage and tried a knife and a flathead, no injuries. Some of them broke but I pried em off, and finally got to my resonator. The car sounds real nice now

Yea they are bound to break after this long. They get brittle over time, and there is no special tool or anything.

Hey karanx7, How much do you think it would cost for me to do a mid-muffler delete?

Most people say they paid 30-60 bucks for a mid muffler delete. Remember you only want to remove the larger resonator. Glad you're enjoying the sound of your intake, really does make a difference.

What do you mean the "larger resonator"? Is that the one right next to the mid muffler? Or somewhere else?

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring the mid muffler. It is a type of resonator, as is the one further up near the cat that is smaller and more cylindrical. You want to remove the one closer to the rear of the car right before the y-pipe.

it goes like so..
header > J > flex > cat > res > mid > Y > exhaust

only remove the muffler right before the y pipe... and 30-60 is about the range....dont pay more....youre actually downgrading the quality of the pipe...but upgrading on the vroom vroom noise scale...

It's quite a common simple mod that a lot of members have enjoyed getting done. It's also reversible if you keep your mid muffler
