Found open wiring in the trunk.

Found open wiring in the trunk.
Acura 3.2 TL 2001.
i need some help to figure out where to connect this wire, which i found lying open in the trunk. i was installing back up camera, and had to open the trunk liner behind both the back lights to access the reverse light. when i opened the left side liner, i found that there are 4 wires joined together, but are floating and not connected anywhere (circled red in the photo below). i did not see any bolt, where it should be connected. there is a hole besides it, where i can put a screw (circled green in the photo below), but i am not sure if that should be connected there. i need to confirm weather it should be connected to the body or it was purposely left disconnected.
If anyone who has a 2001 Acura TL, pleaae check and confirm where this set of wires should be connected.

Thanks for your prompt response guys.
I wonder how the car was running all these days, without any issues.
Looks like it was never connected anywhere.
It was sheer luck that i found this wire open, while installing the rear view camera.
I will sand it and then connect the wires to that hole.

as this car is almost 14 years old, I didnt expect the OP to be the original owner.
I would be concerned if that area looked like crap.
but it doesnt.
one couldnt tell that it was repainted, except that we know that grounds are supposed to be bare metal.

It's possible that the wiring was left dangling from the factory assembly line.

I would be surprised if the car lasted 14 years with that disconnected ground not causing problems.

And we've owned our 2003 Gen 2 TL since new. Motor's perfect, body is in good condition... why not?

Possible repaint......
Yeah, I've personally seen some scuzzy paint on the "unseen" areas from the factory, no doubt about it.
But, are ya saying that the bodyshops are doing better paintwork than the factory ??? If so, they would be more careful of attention to detail.....such as the ground wire.

the painter and the far lower paid person doing the re-assembly of cars in body shops = YIKES

It's possible that the trunk liner pressed it against the sheet metal enough to ground it. It's not a great connection, because it's not bare metal and only held on there enough by the pressure from the liner, but it might have been enough.
