footwell lighting instructions

hey, im looking for instructions for the footwell lightings. i want them to fade with the dome light and also run a seperate switch. (i am planning on running 4 9inch neons--> a pair under the dash, and under the seats) i did a search and i found old posts and their links don't work anymore. i also found some instructions but they were kind of choppy. would someone PLEASE help me out. does anyone have complete instructions and/or diagrams to follow.

I did the same thing... Im running the same setup.... You need to connect them to spdt relay (5 prongs). I'm having problems connecting the switch so right now they turn on and off when the car is on or off...

When I figure out the switch I will let you know...

mr. ...---> do u know if the wires would fry if you tap into the dome light 4-prong wires directly, since the neons run at a higher watt.

does anyone have instructions on installing the neons?... what exactly do you mean by "tapping" the positive to the blue/white wire and so on....? doesn't the tubes come with the wires attached to the power adapter??

I did this mod but on a TL I would recommend smaller neons (the 6 someone used sounds good). The 9s or 10s I had were kind of big so I took them off, sold them, and will be replacing them shortly with smaller neons. This is a GREAT mod and looks as good as it is helpful.

If I was going to do this, I'd do it like ElegantTLS did it... I think, he just went off to pep boys and bought something like a pair of foglights (they were halogen anyways) and it looked real nice. When someone does find out the switch to make them dim, post it, in fact, that would be a great FAQ, because as soon as we know this, I'll do this mod.

you tap a special ground that fades the light. It's a wire in the passenger side fuse box. Detailed instuctions should be on this website, at least that's where I found them to install my footwell lights.

Good luck!
