Nice on the #10. Next time (if you didnt here) brake torque a little and gate shift right at redline

damn, so close to being under 16...that would have been nice! Good numbers though. I'd like to take mine someday, but I'm nervous I'll break something. Just being paranoid though.

i just used sports shift and shifted right at redline. I only have a 99 so no 5th gear. The last race I had one foot on the break and one on the gas and thats why my reaction was so fast. I should have done that the whole time because before i used one foot for both break and gas off the start. What is brake torque?

Exactly how you explained what you did on the last run....that's brake torque. Just get the RPMs up a little (2 or 3k), then let it rip.

Get a CAI and liteweight crank pulley. Also, reaction time DOES NOT affect E.T. or MPH. The timer starts when you leave the line.

what mods do you have on your car that would ever give you the idea that there is a point to going to the track? i mean maybe if something was done to make it worth your time to pay money to go waste your gas but i mean, why put your stock family sedan on a track? if for fun..good answer. but you could go streetlight to street light for that.

I think those are pretty good and consistant times for a 99 TL. Intake, pully, spacers and some weight reduction should get you in the mid 15 sec range.

I would have expected lower 1/4 times. I run high 14s, maybe just work on launching. Very good reaction time with some of those though. Kris should explain brake torquing?

keep in mind this guy has a 99 TL..

"torque braking" is where you step on the brake and push down the gas at the same time to get the rpm up.. then all you have to do when the tree lights up green is take your left foot off and slam down the right and you will already have a bit of power to help you take off a bit quicker..

Yes, the 99 has the 4spd auto, the reason they went to the 5spd in 00+ was for faster acceleration, so it's his tranny holding him back, not his motor.

What would ever give you the idea you can come on here and run your mouth all the time? Maybe he wants to run the car relatively stock, and the run it again after more mods to see what difference was made. Think before you type.

that was mainly towards the couple people above saying that he should be faster and also comparing his time to their TL-S times.. just reminding that hes only got the 225hp and 4spd..

but anyways..

Yeah, as soon as I have more under the hood I'll be hoping for something much lower.

I'd love to run my TL-S on a 1/4 mile, but I'm afraid the other guys there with 11 and 12 second cars would just laugh. I am curious to see what it can do with the mods that I have done.

i ran my tl stock and got 14.95 twice. then i opened the bottle and was around the 14.3's (65shot dry). and the cars that used to beat me before could figure out how i shaved .6s and whomped on their ass. lmao. just tell them u could haul a family of 5 and still get great gas mileage.
