Finally got the built in Navigation DVD unit yesterday (April 27, 2008).
I was going to buy the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 but the shop didn't have it in stock because it's sold out and discontinued. The guy there told me about the new Z3 but it's a little bit more expensive since it's just launched.
I am going to let the shop install the new deck on Wednesday so no picture

Wow that looks awesome. I bought an N3 about three months ago as a close out at Circuit city for $800 and I love it. Ipod adapter is f'd up on mine too hard to work. Nav is awesome. Got the instructions for DVD bypass at avic411.com.

There's some dude who offers upgrades for the Z1s and Z2s to convert them into Z3s with all the 3D icons and stuff. Forgot how much he was asking for but you have to take apart your Z1/2 and send him the drive. If you've got a Z1/2 and were thinking about upgrading to the Z3, that might be a cheaper solution.

where did you get the dash kit from i want one

 

I got it from uncald4, an offical vendor at Acurazine. He's very helpful and a nice guy.

 

^ Thinking of pulling the trigger on the AVIC and also getting the kit from him as well. Some questions:
1. How is the system so far? You like it, is it easy to use?
2. The DVD picture quality, is it good?
3. What modules did you get? Bluetooth, Ipod, etc.?
4. What else do you need for the harness to get it to work with the factory steering controls?
5. Did you need to fabricate any additional holes, brackets to make it fit in your console?
6. Did you install it yourself, was it easy?
Sorry for all the questions, but I wanted make sure I covered my bases before buying it...
