Hey all!

Anyone here purchased extended warantees from the dealer or otherwise? I would love to get your input about your buying experience.

I picked up my WDP TLS with Navi yesterday and am pondering about buying the extended warantee. Plus I would like to also know your opinions about tinting and possible degradation on the GPS signal and radar detector (Valentine-1).

Any advise, input will be much appreciated. :-)

 

Extended warranty's price is varied from dealer to dealer. I had seen range from $1100-$1400. Make sure you get the one from Acura not those third party companies.

I got my 100k mile extended warranty thru my insurance company GEICO. Costs me about $42 a year.

 

I have heard that the Acura warrantee is not bumper to bumper. I have had information about a third party warrantee that requires you to service your car at the dealer where the car was purchased plus $100 deductible.

Can anyone enlightened me on the differences between the Acura warrantee and third party please.

and got the details of the extended warranty. I beleive is the same as those third party extended warranty. If you get the third party one, those companies will use every little reason to decline your claim. I had heard a lot of horrible stories.

 

I got the Acura Care 7 year 100k mile warranty when I bought the car. It cost $1,035, zero deductable. I bought it because of all the electronic gizmos on our cars. Those are the kinds of things that poop out the day after the basic warranty expires.

I don't know much about third party warranties, but for the peace of mind I just went with Acura's. Since you already bought your car, you may get stuck with paying full price for the Acura extended warranty.

You can shop the Acura extended warranty just like shopping for your new car. Call around the Acura dealer and ask for price. No need to pay full price.

Now, TGIF is Springfield Motor Cars Inc. a true Acura/Honda dealer? If so does anyone know where they are? I tried looking them up via the Honda.com and Acura.com sites and they are not even listed on either.

Thanks again... appreciate the help. Now I am going to cancel the extended warranty I have and start looking for an Acura warranty instead.

 

hmm. iIf you can't find it on the Acura website, it is not Acura Certified dealer.
