I never pull up the engine and do not even know how to do it. I pull out cylinder head, or both if need. But it seldom happens. The last one was for my Acura Legend in 2005. However, I would not do that at the parking lot of apartment building. Back then had a garage for it.

This is very important news to me. It means that you can check car sensors with resistance. I'm aware it is not 100% reliable but it worked for me in this case. Returned sensor and old is working perfectly fine. I use voltage testing where is possible already long time. Now I can use resistance too. Obviously mostly with electronics. There is explanation on the internet that resistance is not reliable test where is high current, like starting for ex, as multimeter use low current for resistance testing. But at electronics, sensors and such it may work.

Eric the car guy had same situation. Even worse as his timing belt completely broke. He replaced it and everything is ok.
