Engine Oil Question

Engine Oil Question
I just changed my oil. Added 4 qts and checked the dipstick. It looks like it passed the second hole. Do I still need more oil? I thought our engine takes 4 point something qts?
Since I used Mobile 1 Syn oil and a Mobile 1 oil filter, how often should i change my oil ?
One more question, my engine light didn't come on to notify me to change my oil, do I need to reset anything? If I do, is there a certain step I need to do to reset it, or do I just hold onto those two buttons whenever?
Thanks

There is nothing to reset. Every 7,500 miles or so the Maint Reqd light comes on. It tells you how to reset it in your owners manual. I actually think it's a pointless light. They should just have a "change oil soon" light.

4 quarts isnt enough. its 4.7. You should really recheck it. and think about adding another half to full. I always put in the full 5 quarts.
Do a search for Maintenance required light resetting

Its a good idea to pre-fill the oil filter- at least enough to soak - and as close to full as the angle required to install will allow.
Also a little fresh oil on the threads and the rubber O-ring seal helps prevent leaks
When you start the engine with a dry oil filter, no oil is going to the engine until the filter fills up, then you get pressure and finally, oil the vital moving parts.
Just watch how long it takes the Oil light to go off when you do a dry fill.
Then you will start adding oil to the filter first.
