Try looking at the sensor. It's on the brake fluid reservoir cap. Sometimes the float(light blue color) that goes up and down dependant on the level of brake fluid, gets stuck. Try pushing it up and down and see if it moves freely. I fiddled with mine and the light went away. Most people change the sensor since it's around twenty dollars. I'm going to wait until it comes back.

Well I have the same problem but I always assumed because it was my rotors where warped. Can that cause the light to come on too?

OK what is this it in my case then. In the moringings when I go out and its cold my break light comes on usally goes off but sometimes stays on or like him it will come on when I break. Its only in the mornings when its cold out. If I go out to my car around noon its fine. I always assumed it was because my rotors are warped but apparently not.

Most likely the master cyl brake cap. The flot is probably sticking a little or the fluid is a little low

There is also a "Brake Lamp" indicator in the dash under the "Brake" indicator. You should be clear which you are talking about.

In my case the "Brake Lamp" indicator came on. The manual says it means one of your brake bulbs is burned out. A bit unusual b/c I previously burned out two anf the light never came on. Well, this time was different. When going in to change the bulb I discovered the bulb receptacle was scorched. It looks like it shorted out. To make matters worse, the bulb was fused into the socket and broke off when I tried to remove it. Now it looks like I'll have to go to the dealer to get a new receptacle and wiring stub.

I guess I feel lucky that it did not catch fire.
