Anybody have any suggestions on why door won't open?it locks and unlocks and the window gos up and down but door just won't open

 

Are you sure it is actually unlocking or are you hearing the lock actuator working and is it possible disconnected from the lock itself? Just a thought.

 

Does the button go up and down? Does it open from the outside but not the inside?

If it opens from the outside only, check the child lock on the door.

Otherwise, please provide some additional details.

 

Sorry,yes it locks and unlocks but still won't open from either side,I'm new to acura, so I apologize for not giving/knowing the correct problems. The button gos up and down and the handle moves but it just doesn't want to open

 

When you pull up on the outside handle, do you feel some resistance from the door latch mechanism like on the other doors that open? If so, you may have a situation where the door weatherstripping has "fused" itself to the door opening from the door not being opened for a long time and all it might take to get it open is some additional force to break the bond.

 

Inside the door, the door handle is connected to the door latch mechanism using a thin metal rod. Sounds like the rod is detached from either the door handle end or the latch mechanism end.
