Electrical gremlins in the driver's door
I'm having a strange issue on my 2005 RL.
When I press unlock, door locks. When I press lock, door unlocks. When I open it, it engages the lock while the door is open.
When I press window switch to close, it opens. When I press to open, it closes.
No errors on the dash, no flickering, nothing else is happening. The only other electrical problem I have (for a while now), the button to raise rear window shade stopped working after a huge storm in July.
I doubt those are related.
Anyone have similar experience(s) or suggestion(s)?
Thanks

You are right. Sounds like gremlins to me.

My bet is that there is water in your outer door handle. Memory says fuse #7 for the door handles (please correct if I'm wrong). Pull it and see if the gremlin goes away.
My passenger door handle was replaced for this under warranty but it still occasionally decides to not function as intended.
Good Luck!

Interesting problem, is this problem only related to the driver side switches? If so, then first I would check all the fuses (7, 24 and 27 in the left kick panel fuse box, 3 and 5 in the right kick panel fuse box), if everything is ok, then I would remove the driver's door trim and see if all the power comes to the MCPS module, if all the power is ok, then most likely the MCPS module needs to be replace.
