Not me... I love my Philips... don't wanna shorten its life.

Why would you wanna do that anyway...? In place of daytime running lamps?

I drive with mine on 100% of the time & use as DRLs.
I have done this for the past 2yrs because some dumb A
at HONDA is not on the ball. They should have offered them to us.
The bulbs should last a long time anyway. This topic comes up every now & then. America just has not done any studies on the safety of using them. But I always point to the fact that many buses & trucks use the headlights all the time now.

If I had daytime running lights like Canadian TL's, I don't mind driving one of those. But I am not using my Xenon on daytime.

Lights on at night ONLY!

Xenon is too special to have on when no one can appreciate it!

wouldn't it be nice to have automatic lights with a light sensor?

Even some less expensive cars have auto lights feature now.

I could have got the light sensor with my aftermarket alarm. If I had got the next model up from mine it had the sensor.
It only comes on when it detects darkness. I wanted DRLs to use all the time.

I drive with mine on all the time, and only turn them off when I park (hate blinding neighbors, or stores/restaurants when I park). They can be needed during the day, too. If it's sunny out, all of a sudden you go around a corner and there is shade, your eyes aren't adjusted and you can't see that silver car in front of you... Would be nice if his headlights were on. That's the fault with MOST daytime running lights - the tailights don't come on as well. Makes it too easy to hit a slow moving car.
I do it for SAFETY. If the lights burnout, warranty.

personally i run my lights all the time and the life expectancy of a hid bulb is great so i wouldnt try and ectend the life of the bulb by 4 weeks by not runnning them.

some people are adamant about DRLs while some other people hate them for some reason, I guess they have nothing else to pick on. They say driving out of the sun with your lights on makes you car invisible.

I don't care. It seems that DRLs do good most of the time.

What I think would be really nice is that if it starts raining, your lights should automatically get turned on. In many cases when it rains it is still light enough and does not trigger the sensor.

So what's the solution? - Link the automatica headlights to the wipers.

Actually, my last car, Chrysler 300M, had this setup. After your wipers are on for 5 seconds, the headlights are turned on automatically. Plus it had the normal automatic headlight operation with the light sensor. Pretty neat, huh?

I used to have headlights on all the time.... IMO, it's much safer to have front/rear lights on even during the day... but after I rewired my foglights, I run with foglights on all the time...and only turn on headlight when it gets dark....
