Just wondering, just went to the dealer. The mudguard are free in Canada. So I am wondering if the Tl-S would look cool with mudguard? Do they look cool with mudguard?

I took them out from my Legend, it looks tight, but looked base too.

They're practical but not necessarily a visual enhancement. Especially since Acura only offers them in dull black plastic. They look good on SUV's but, IMHO, are just OK on a car.

They look ok on most cars, much better if you color match them to the car, but dont bother if you get the body kit because they wont fit.

The only thing to worry about is that if you do get them and then decide you dont like them and want to take them off some time later the paint underneath could get damaged. All along the edge of the mudguard small movement causes rubbing against the paint and can lead to a sandblasted look just like can occur under a moonroofvisor. I found that out after removing the mudguards on my Accord after lowering it becuase they rubbed on speedbumps, so just keep that in mind. Small pieces of X-pel underneath should prevent the damage.

Guard Against Mud

Dude,

I have dealer installed mud guards on my TL S-Type. At first I thought they looked a bit ugly...but when I went to go wash my car and saw all the crap that was stuck on them...which would have been splattered all over the bottom my car if they weren't there...I was sold.

My buddy as an Audi A6 and after he saw my mud guards he's thinking about installing some on his ride, too.

I too realized the difference in color between the underneath of the mudguard on my Legend. I want to put them back on because of the color differences.

My hyde, for your Accord, did you put it back on? should the mudguard be taken out once a year to be cleaned?

Since my car was lowered I had to take them out because they rubbed on speed bumps. I guess now I can put them back on, but I havent yet. Taking them out once a year wont do much because there is still aot of dirt that will get inbetween the mudguard and paint that will get rubbed in. If you want to put them on, think of it as a permanent modification unless you can live with the paint defects

I think the mud guards are cool. Don't really think its that noticeable. I've had it on for 3 months now, I'm afraid to take'em off ...knowing what the paint could look like underneath. If you can get it for free .. get'em .. if you don't like'em take'em off

Don't they mount using existing holes?

Either way, the holes are inside the fenderwell.

I've had two Legends and two TLs, and I think the mud guards look great. I'm not into body kits because they look like aftermarket and they always get damaged.

Just my opinion.

Okay, thanks guys!

I think I will take them and keep them on because rocks can splat on the paint and damage it. With mudguards it can somewhat prevent it.

Yeah, I like the way painted mud guards look. I'm about to get my Comptech springs installed Saturday and I will then see if I can put mud guards on w/out it scraping. If it won't scrape, I will get it painted.
