Michelin Primacy MXM4 - suggestion/what's your take?
Hello everyone, looking to replace my current OEM tires. Michelin Primacy MXM4 is on special price listed for $158.71 at Tirerack, grand total of $634.84 plus shipping. My local Discount tire quoted me installed for the same tire for $756.27 plus ( Michelin has a rebate for $70 ).Anyone had experience or have this tires on their car? I know most of you will suggest to get Michelin PSS but as this point money is tight and not looking to spend over 1k.

The OEM tires are not a bad tire at all. The PSS is a High Performance Summer tire vs the OEM being Grand Touring tires designed for comfort and longevity.
I would rather suggest you get these instead. They are brand new, have a 6 year/50,000 mile warranty on them vs the 30K rating for the Michelin MX4M.

The Continental DWS-06. They are 169 each so about $10 more/tire. Discount Tire has fiancing that you could apply for to help spread it out over 6-12 months, same as cash.
Tey are INCREDIBLE in the snow and rain, their older version, the DWS could easily go though a 1-2 feet of snow without an issue! That's just incredible considering it's an Ultra High Performance All-Season Tire.

Just FYI, those tires are on "special" because they are being discontinued and vendors are trying to liquidate them now. If you damage one in the future, you may not be able to find another one to replace it. Being a FWD TL, matching tires is not a big deal but in case you care about stuff like that...
Also, that quoted price from TireRack does not include tax, shipping or install. By the time you add all of that up, you'll be paying a lot more from them than from your local Discount, especially once you factor in the $70 rebate.

I appreciated your input, one reason I'm looking to buy a tire/s is due to one tire started to bulge/bubble on the sidewall. Hit a curb rash and took a small chunk of tire, when I bought the set of wheels&tires it came from a 2014 TL which had 6k miles. I was quoted by multiple tire shop from 250-300 on one tire installed. I'm on the fence to spend $300 for one if I can buy a set for roughly $700-800. I know I have to replace bcuz of safety issue, maybe I'll buy one now and get the set of four in a year or two.
It's just to good to pass up on the Michelin Primacy MXM4 especially $756 OTD.

It's a great tire for the average driver. Personally, it doesn't have near enough dry traction for my tastes but if you're not an aggressive driver, I'm sure they'll suit you just fine.

+1 for DWS-06
i have them on my 12 SH and love them, much better than the goodyear that came stock.
- better handling
- quieter on highways
- great in the rain
- (had the old DWS) awesome in the snow which im sure they will perform awesome as well.
and isn't there rebates on the Continental tires as well? $70?

2012 TSX Wagon here, and when it came time to replace the OEM Pilot HX MXM4, I went with the Primacy MXM4. It's my wife's daily driver and she also preferred comfort first, then performance. I'm the other way and like anything in the Michelin lineup with Pilot in it.

Yes. Michelin is working to slim its product lineup. They may continue to produce the Primacy MXM4 in select sizes for OE applications but they've already discontinued the tire in over half of the sizes they used to offer it in. The Premier A/S is replacing both the Primacy MXV4 and the Primacy MXM4.

Don't buy discontinue-in-progress tires, because in the future if one of your tires craps out, you won't be able to replace just one or two tires, but only to buy a new set.
