just curious, but is there such thing as clearing out the windows. bc i know on the window sticker that comes with the car, it says "tinted windows". and some show cars have windows that are crystal clear. did they rip off the factoy film on their windows or something? can sum1 please explain.

I don't really know the answer to this, maybe cause it's a light interior?:p I dunno....I think some aftermarket glass companies offer tinted or non tinted replacement glass on certain models.......I think.

See if you can zoom in on the image and see if it's a non-OEM replacement.

But anyway, what is that orange thing? Why does that car exist? It amazes me that someone would spend all that money on a Cavalier!!

Ummmm....hehehe...well.....if you don't have window tint..then that's how your car will look. No window tint means clear windows! Most cars here doesn't have window tint...unless you want the dealer to tint it for you.

 

Most good quality cars are made with glass that is FACTORY made & has the tint built right into the glass itself. They probably make non-tinted glass for special occations, like shows, special requests, etc. This is aside from the after market film type tints!

 

I remember reading in the manual or hearing it from dealer that our cars come with a factory greenish tint that keeps the UV waves out. That's why at certain angles, our windows appear a little greenish.

Either way, I rather have tinted than non-tinted windows anyday.

 

Most new cars come with a green uv tint. It's standard from the factory.

 

That's funny I know a Lexus dealership in Fl. that does tints and they have a choice of clear tint, I have no idea why anyone would get that who knows. Just like that visor some ppl have on the bottom of the windshild (who knows) just strange things.

yup, it's not tinted for privacy. the tint they are referring to is the uv stuff...the greenish stuff on our ride and the bluish stuff on new benzes.

 

the clear tint is mainly to keep the UV rays out and keeps the sun from burning you without making the windows darker. sometimes people don't prefer tint...so they get the clear stuff....

 

I know on my dads '00 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP the rear window had a weird tint. I looks like a checker board. Its a foggy square then a clear square. I dont know what it is. My neighbors Porsche has the same thing.
