Debadging is fine as along as you don't go around telling people you have a car that you don't have. eg: debadging a TL-P and going to a meet and saying you have a TL-S, and having people call you on it based on the leather, rims, and other differences.

I really really hate it when I see civics rolling around with VTEC or Si stickers when it's obvious they ain't got VTEC or they're not Si's.

yes they're the stock 215/50/ZR17 Hankook Ventus K104, btw great tire and compared to the big guys I think they're just as good or better IMO, I've had the toyos and the yokos and they aren't any better or worse than the Hankooks

Dental floss, goo-gone, and patience. Do small sections...The more time you take, the better it will look when you're done

Also keep in mind when you take the badges and the adhesive residue off, you still might be able to see an outline of where the badge was. In some cases, you might be able to polish this out, in some cases you wont.

rofl that garfield made my day.
while debadging is common, it does separate you from the 50 year old granny driving the type-s next to you. sure it's almost everywhere here on azine, but when you consider that roughly 50% of acura's sales come from the tl, aziners make up a small portion. so it's not like it's anywhere near as bad as a type-r integra with a 4 lug wheel

Hell no its not lame. Looks clean. It's not like your taking a 318i and tryin to convince people your drivin an m3. A TL, whether or not a type S, is a sick car. Granted I wish my P was an S, but when I debadged mine I wasn't thinkin I was going to try to fool anyone.

Fooling anyone? It's just to see how it would look. Whoever said anything about making it an actual LEXUS?

its better to do it in the summer when the car is nice and hot; this way, it loosens the adhesive of the lettering. also, use a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive if you want to do it now but make sure you dont hold it too close to the paint or you might run the risk of damaging the paint.

I have a TLP and I took off the "3.2TL". IMO, it just looks more clean w/o it.

I wouldn't debadge, unless you're ready to take your car all the way and have the money to back it up... do mods in a progressive order that doesn't make you look like a dumbass. (pardon the forward attitude, it's a forum)

I laugh at civics and such going down the road that thought it'd be "cool" to debadge his '98 Civic DX, with nearly NO other mods. Stock hubcaps, stock height, and road huggie tires, with some gawd awful "Powered by Honda" windshield decal... all finished off by a super high "Type-R" spoiler and the infamous "Fear This" sticker in his back window.

IMO if you're going to debadge, you better do the whole look and not be some over-excited broke guy/gal trying to play the part.

Personally, everytime I see a debadged car I chuckle; specifically when it's not the top of that models line.

I've even seen debadged TL-P's with stick-ons that say "Type-S"!
It's fairly easy to tell a TL-P from a TL-S.

why would it matter what model it is? if it makes the car look cleaner and you like that, why not do it? it doesnt mean you are a ricer or a poser trying to have a "fast" car or a higher model of the car. its strictly for looks. look how many TL-ps there is debadged on this forum, with no other mods, and they look fine and clean

I agree to this, I debadged my 3.2TL off the car and I'm not tryin to pull off as if I had a Type-S. It's just too visible to notice that I have a TL-P with the stock rims. To Blaze.45, when it comes to mods to make the car go faster, why bother I have a freakin TL-P (no offense to anyone) So all I do is work a bit on the exterior to make the car look more clean ex: clearin headlights, hid fogs, underbody kit, and etc. I'm too lazy to deal with lowering the car just 'cause I don't have to worry about smackin the front bumper when I park. The purpose for me debadging is just to make the car look cleaner, that's it. Damn, it would be great to have a TL-S, lol. But parents bought the car so I really had no say...
