D5 - Transmission Temperature Sensor circuit Malfunction
Does anyone have experience with this code ? Is this something I can fix myself - or bring to a dealership ? I just ordered the Tranny filter for the car- I just found out ( thanks to Acutee ) that this vehicle is equipped with an external tranny filter. Geez, my Acura dealership didnt even know that. I'm assuming the filter is clogged pretty good which led to the temp circuit failure ? Just guessing here, but kind of makes logical sense.

Try to replace the tranny filter first and maybe that will correct the problem with the sensor. Flashing d5 could also indicate that it is overheating, something that triggers the d5 to flash, indicating heating is out of range, and of course it could be a bad sensor that does not provide the heating feedback.

Filter wont fix it. He needs to replace the sensor.
Somewhere there are 2 threads on where and how (one posted by me) The sensor is behind the front transmission mount. You have to remove teh mount to get to it. 1 bolt holds it in.

Welcome Guaposaurio !!!
Have the codes checked. They might help with determining what the problem may be.
