Cusco Underbrace Bar VS the streets of NYC

Well unfortantally of all the scraping and hits my cusco bar finally met its match and lost to the famous 6 feet randomly raised manholes in queens. The bar snapped at the welds to the bracket so i was wondering if anyone hear has ran into this promblem. Im trying to see if i can just get the brackets replaced instead of the entire thing.

pics or GTFO.

this has happened before - for the $90 you spent, spend another $90 to get a new one - depending on the damage, not sure how well it would hold up to the stress if "somewhat" repaired.

those come direct from Japan to a main warehouse- then to the various suppliers like MrHeelToe
Trying to get a part for it would be an exercise in futility
Just replace it- and think of it as insurance
If it took the bar out- it would have ripped a $1000 cat right off the exhaust!
Mine has taken some scrapes- the car is average lowered amount, but driveways and rough roads will get you~
Someone in vegas had a similar situation- bent the mount tabs backwards!

YOOOOOO get rid of that shit man dont even try to get another one. New York is the worst place to be when u have a underbrace. I had it for 1 month and took that crap off. Nothing hurts more when a NYPD tow truck is trying to tow the car and the underbrace is stopping it. All u see is my car being jerked back and forth. And when they finally do get under it, its even worst with they are trying to take it out. OMG yo I dont know if they have in any other states but NY is ticket island and they will tow ur car for anything. I got rid of the underbrace the same day with a $350 ticket. Sorry about ur car man I was warned when I first put it but I didnt listen.

<---I thought that was appropriate.

Hit a raised manhole (road being resurfaced, manhole 2" higher than road. Bar sits about 2" off ground. Knew it was fudged as soon as I impacted it.

Bar mount still on the car. The bar will/should break before the massively strong bolt holding the bar onto the subframe.

The scrapes added up over the months

Broke @ the welds

Comparison

Got it all off at a Maserati/Ferrari/Lamborghini dealership/shop

no, it has a little curvature to it - the ends curve up slightly to meet the mounting brackets.

Ha, no, just a old allen key I had that fit nicely.

With springs, yes. Highway road transitions felt more solid and the car didn't "wiggle" as much.
When it got ripped off I had coilovers on. I felt no negative difference in handling since.
People can tell you theories on why it should be great... I'm just telling you what I experienced.
It's $90. If anything, it will protect your cat. (And it adds one more thing to your most list ) But it is seriously low to the ground. It will plow snow. You can't even ride over a soda can. (Or roadkill... ekk)

^^no, unless you cross at a funky angle - the bar sits between the tires - to hit something, you have to straddle it with the tires.....
