Crack on windshield

To replace it it's going to cost me $710, great ha?

check with your insurance... some time they will replace it for free... no deductible or anything.

I talked with my agent and it's not worth to make a claim, I have $500 deductible and then the insurance might go up.

In FL if there is a crack in the windshield the insurance company is required by law to replace it without you paying your deductable and without a rate increase. Only thing is that the crack has to be in direct line of sight of the driver. So if its not, well, MAKE IT

Glass coverage varies greatly from state to state. Here in MA, I have no deductible free glass replacement on all windows, including front windshield and rear window. If you think $750 is bad for the front windshield, ask how much it costs to replace the rear one (with the built-in defroster and antenna). It'll make you :yack:

Strange, list price for a FRONT windshield is $396.42, it the rear that costs $728.93 list...

if the crack isn't too big yet, you can sometimes get it filled. I have 2 on my car filled and they've done great for the past 4 years.

I have an 2003 with the onstar and on that page it has until 2002 so maybe that's the difference in price.
