Cooling fan run-on

My son has a '99 CL and has commented that the radiator cooling fan runs for quite awhile after the car is shut off. This occurs even after short trips. Is this fan temperature controlled? Is there a temperature controlled relay that is sticking? Any thoughts on what is causing this and how to fix it would be appreciated.

teh fan can run after the car has been shut off, its not a real common thing though (atleast on my TL) you may want to see if its running hot, or is low on fluid

My accord use to do that. The fan would run almost everytime after the car was shut off in the summer months. Sometimes for as much as 10 mins. But have never noticed that on the TL.

Your car may be running a little hotter? Might want to check the coolant level.
