coolant temp not reading

coolant temp not reading
getting no needle movement for my coolant. car is working fine, thermostat opens, and fans come on at about 180 degrees so the car isnt over heating. but i still want my needle to work.
replaced the coolant sensor right after the coolant line, but i relized that the 99 engine has an extra spot where somethign plugs in right next to the coolant temp sensor.
the type-s engine does not have this spot. any help?

CEL? what the code? I had the same problem but I just change the High Coolant temp sensor and fix my problem. Here is my link on my issue https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/cel-p0118-727325/
