This guy who just opened a new shop a couple months ago is asking $650 for comptech headers. I've been to him a couple times... he talks/looks shady when he tries to sell his stuff. Is there any way I can tell if the headers are actually by comptech or not? is there a comptech logo on the header anywhere or anything like that so that I can make sure i'm not getting ripped off? Thanks. By the way I have 02 TL Type S. He swears that the headers are comptech and for my car. He says they're "on sale."

 

Yeah they have "COMPTECH SPORT" engraved in them.

Check them, make sure they say comptech on them, and then double check them for cracks or flaws... Granted $650 is below wholesale, but hey, if its good, who cares if its off the back of a truck?

 

Maybe you should get him to sell you the Tornado, too...

If you are gonna buy them, make sure there aren't any dark blue sedans occupied by guys in cheap suits and sunglasses parked a block away.

 

Being a vendor myself I can tell you for sure that it waaay below wholesale. It's well below what I get it for and even below what my wholesaler gets it for... and he gets them directly from Comptech!!

I'd be very, very careful with that.....

 

buy a bunch and then sell them here!

 

Wait a minute.. he could be excluding the downpipe... maybe he's just offering you the pair of headers... if I'm not mistaken, it's a three piece set that you need for the full install .. maybe he'll jack you when he installs 'em and adds the extra charge of the downpipe.
