Thumbs up Comptech Exhaust Inserts

For those of you with Comptech exhausts that are tired of all the resonance at around 2000 rpm I highly recommend the exhaust inserts. Mine arrived Thursday and I used the dremel to polish them. Installation is very easy and they reduce the resonance by about half. I've attached a post install picture, nice reflection of my feet on the mufflers.

WHAT THE HELL?

I find this perposterous. Why would you want to get rid of the resonance? That is the very point of getting the comptech exhausts!!! you can't even hear the exhausts over 4k!!!!!

The comptech exhausts are the most quiet ones in the industry besides mugen. I got my exhaust only for the sound. Don't tell me you got yours because of the advertised 5 hp gain which you won't feel at all.

I personally got mine for the looks and not the advertised 5 HP. Also, my car getting rear ended which damaged on of the exhaust helped in the decision also.

Now I am just confused. The main reason to open the exhaust is in hope of gaining some power. If it's just for some annoying resonance noise, and plug the opening with an insert. Would it be going back to where it was (of course not all the way back)?! I've seen some people put a plate covering the whole exhaust opening, leaving a gap in surrounding, and claim it gives more back pressure for more low end grunt. Why put the exhaust in the first place??? Please don't get me wrong, I have no offense of people who put exhaust and I know it helps at certain rpm? Just my 2 cents

No one puts it down like Mr. Rice himself...I would in no way put a silencer in my exhaust...You cant even see tha little pea shooters anyways, why you wanna mask the sound...You guys are sick...Shyne

Rice, I got the exhausts for the look and the sound. Do you have the Comptechs? I was tired of the resonance inside the car at low RPM with a load on the engine, these cut it down. It still sounds about the same other than that. The tips on the Comptech exhausts are much larger than the pipe exiting the muffler, with the insert you're not losing much flow.

Crzy Acura - No it doesn't sound stock. Still about the same outside, just a little quieter inside.

NSXNEXT - You have to drill one hole for the mounting screw. You just drill the inner wall of the tip, not all the through.

yeah, i have the comptechs and i like the sound. The resonance gets louder after i've been driving for a while. Like when i get off a highway i've been on for an hour i can especially hear it.

I think you should have gotten some earplugs as a cheaper and better alternative.

IMO that kind of defeats the purpose of the Comptech Exhaust. Looks is by far the biggest plus of the C-Tech exhaust, and now they look, well........I'll keep my comments to myself
