Talking Completed Non Navi to Navi!!!!!!!!!!

I finally converted my 2000 non navi Tl to a 99 Acura Navigation Unit. I started on it 4pm Saturday yesterday and got done 2 pm sunday(22 hours of non stop work). It has to be the hardest thing I have ever done phiscally. If I had to do it all over again I would have just payed the installer $500 because I am still out of it. Any way I want to thank many people in here for helping me out with my questions last year. I finally graduated last week and got time to do it. Thanx go out to Streeteffects, Austin, systec, unx999, Bitium and everybody else who helped me. I will post the pics later but Im gonna go to sleep now. Thanx again

Yup everything works except for the sound right now. I will be correcting that tommorow. Then It will be 100%. I have no instruction Manual or anything. If any one has an extra one or could copy me one I would be very greatful. My Navi also seems like its a little slow when Im driving, like i'll be passing a road and the target will come across it like 10 sec later. Also when I park my car outside my house and I hit the satelite button to show me where I am it dose not give me 1801 as my house address but 1824. I just need to know how to calibrate it. Someone please help. I just need to learn how to use it to its full potential. It cost me about $1000 in total. I will have pics very shortley. For those of you with enough guts to try this on your own this is What you need.
1.Navigation Display Unit
2.Navigation Unit
3.GPS Antenna
4.Wiring harness or part of it anyway
5.A/C panel where the cd holder goes
6.Navi Dash panel
7.Alot of blue but connectors
8.Shielded wire
9.Electronic Helms Manual
10.lots of patients and caffine
11.Taking out your back seats, Drivers seat, Carpet, panels, dash, glov compartment, and taping into alot of wires.

I have the 2002 Navi Unit. I'm willing to help you but I don't know if I can. You may need someone with a 99 Navi manual to assist you.

Congratulations on an excellent accomplishment! :wow:

V.

Note to prospective TL/TL-S buyers... check out the Navi!

YOU DA MAN!

Now go out and get yourself a DVD nav ASAP! It is a whole world of difference. I used to have the 99 navi also but luckily I got a hook-up for a DVD navi and I switched it in a heart beat. It is so much better and faster and covers the whole US!

Once again, congrats on your accomplishments because that is one hell of a feat!

That's what I was wondering. If you would do Nav mod, why didn't you do it with DVD based navigation?

Well unx999 has a 97 tl and intergrated it into his tl which was amazing. Then he decided he wanted his radio back so he took it out and I went after it for about a year and finally got it.
