cleaning windows

i have some light film on the inside of my windows. I can really see it at night. I wanted to clean it and I bought some of the zaino glass cleaner but it says not to use it on windows that have tint. do our Tls have stock tint on the inside? Otherwise should i just use some window cleaner like you'd use on the typical windows in your house? thanks.

any car with window tint should not use anything to clean there windows but water and soap. if you use windex or anything to clean tinted windows it will damage the clear coat. and will make your tints change color over time. if you notice some car have purple tints or wierd brown tints its because they use stuff that is too strong for the tints

The windows from the factory don't have tint film on them. They are heat rejecting glass and have a slight green color. The dealer may have tinted your windows (i.e., applied a film). You would probably know this because they would have charged you for it. Other than looking to see if the window is darker or actually doing something to damage the film, I don't know how you can tell. You are not supposed to use normal window cleaning products on tint film. I've heard vinegar and water is OK. I dislike the smell though. If they are non-tinted window, any normal window cleaning product should be fine. Just be a little careful and wipe up the overspray.

As far as aftermarket tints...

I've heard that as long as you use a cleaner without amonia it shuold be ok. You can find this anywhere...it'll either say amonia free, or you may have to look at the back of the bottle.

Right. You can use specially-sold automotive glass cleaners with no ammonia.

The film you see on the inside of the glass is actually outgassing from the vinyl surfaces. You must put a vinyl conditioner and protectant on your surfaces to stop the outgassing, otherwise your windows will always have a layer of greasy film on them, and your vinyl surfaces will eventually dry out and crack.

Great cleaner

Cheap, antibacterial, can be used as a safe cleaner in the car, around the home, near kids and pets.

1) Get distilled water
2) Mix the water with CLEAR VINEGAR in the ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar.
3) Safe, effective, and cheap!

busterkw,
Try eagle One 20/20 Auto Glass Cleaner at any autostore, K-mart, Wal-Mart or http://www.properautocare.com/eagone20autg.html.

It works great and safe, none streaking.
