cleaning the plastic lens of front headlights
yes, it can be fixed....or at the very least, worked on to make it look better. It's hard to say without knowing what it looks like.
You may need to clay it or clean it with a plastic product like Plexus. I wash my car every week, so I haven't run into this yet.
maybe move this over to the W&W forum ?

Personally I have never used this product, but I hear it works really well. Your headlight housings should look brand new once you're done with them.
Here is a link to what product you need.

you don't have to buy from them, I'm just showing you what product you need to cure your problem.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

I did these steps to my 96 Sebring and the results were amazing.
Parts
800 grit wetordry sandpaper
1000 grit wetordry sandpaper
1500 grit wetordry sanepaper
2000 grit wetordry sandpaper
3m Rubbing Compound
Some type of carnuba wax
Bucket of cool clean water
This is very simple.
1. Soak the 800 grit sandpaper and goto town on your headlight. Keep sanding, once you think your done sand some more, a good rule of thumb is first grit paper sand for about 10min on the whole lense.
2. Dry off the light. and move onto the 1000 grit, Soak that and sand for about 20mins(noticing a patteren here) Continue this with 1500 and 2000 grit papers doubling your time with each grade of paper so basically
800 - 10min
1000 - 20min
1500 - 40min
2000 - 60min
3. Once you've finished sanding the lenses, their going to look very dull, hazy, scratched up. This is what the rubbing compound is for. SImply follow the directions on the bottle for applying and removing and repete this step about 2-3 times.
4. Take whatever wax you use on your car(I'm a meguiars person) and wax your headlight like you would your car. and BAM! your lights should look like the day your bought the car.
4b. It would also help to wax your lights everytime you wax your car, just to keep them protected since this isn't exactly a short process.
