Hey guys, I seafoamed my car in the summer but my tl friends say that i need to clean out my exhaust. How do i do that and will it make a big difference? my engine runs nice though after seafoam.

well i dont really know my friends just told me. They said your engine is clean but your exhaust probaly has a lot of gunk in it.

and it is not so much the valve that gets plugged, it is the small passages up in the upper intake manifold that get plugged

 

correct me if i'm wrong, but as i understand it, you can clean your egr system by removing the silver plate on top of the intake manifold, and then spraying a throttle body cleaner (and then i used an old tooth brush) into the small passages under the plate. i would advise removing the entire manifold to do this tho.

 

you MUST remove the intake manifold if you expect to get any cleaning of the EGR ports done
see the DIY-- it needs to be done about every 75kmiles, per a megamod with 300kmiles on his TL!!

Suggest seafoam 1st timers repeat vac and gas method after 2000 miles then good for a year

To clean exhaust throw 1 can in 1/2 tank of gas
