Check Engine Light on with code P1676, P1457
Check Engine Light turned on 1 week ago on my '99 TL. Went to auto zone and got the code P1676 -- FPTDR Signal Failure (Acura, Honda) and P1457 -- Leak Detected In EVAP Control System (Acura, Honda) Unable to vacuum in the tank.
Any idea what that means? Thanks!

lolol... the second one is because your gas cap isn't on tight enough (pretty sure).....I've done that myself.... My mechanic plugged in the machine...looked at me....."do up your gas cap". I felt like such a doofus...but hey you live and you learn..
Go tighten your gas cap and then turn the car on and let it sit... mine reset itself.
I did my own brakes a few weeks after the incident with my mechanic.. I left the cap for the brake fulid resivour a little loose ( it's a prick to get on) and my check engine light went on... being embarrassed the last time I went to the mechanic I thought I would check the caps before taking it to him.... low and behold, a few seconds after I tightened the cap on properly, the engine light went off, it probably had to build up a certain ammount of back pressure in the brake fluid to correct the sensor. Same goes for our gas tanks..
Good luck keep is informed

Your engine light will not come on if your brake master cap is not on.
I've done many brake jobs and left the cap off while checking the brake pedal with the car running for pedal feel.
Code p1457 is a evap leak on the canister side, has nothing to do with the fuel tank or gas cap being loose.

You are actually incorrect... but I wouldn't think it would have done it unless it happend to me....Why would I make up a story like that?
I did my brake job and the engine light only came on AFTER I drove the car with the cap being off the brake reservior. The engine light didn't come on while I was bleeding the lines (engine on just like your situation) or while the car sat after the brake job (engine still running). If you've done a brake job on a TL you will notice the cap can only be connected one way. It has to have a half turn to properly lock, but there are wires connected to the cap making the half turn pretty difficult. The most obvious way, I found, to connect the cap (incorrect way) the wires pull tight during the half turn preventing it from completly closing. It took me a min or two to get the cap on the proper way, I had to "unwind" the cap before putting it on so the wires wouldn't pull tight and allow me to close the cap properly. My check engine light went off less than a min after the cap was properly on... hence why I know that was the problem.
Just sharing what I've personally experienced with our cars.. believe me if you want to..

I had the same 1457 code the other day, Acura dealership changed out my gas tank, and cap and now i have another evap leak code, now they say they have to order a smoke kit to see where it's leaking from. They said it could be more than one thing that will cause that code other than the gas cap...

I had the same code - gas cap. I went and got gas and it hissed when i took the cap off, so it wasn't a loose cap. Mine has only done it 3 times when the temp is in the single digits. It reset itself last week.
