Car wont start, need help!

ok, this has been happening for a while now so if anyone knows whats wrong please help.

Whenever i leave my HID's on for about 10 min (without car running), and then I goto start the car, the car wont start. The funny thing is that the battery is still green (meaning still fully charged), I can still bump my system and everything, but it just wont start. This only happens when I have my hid's on for more than 10 min, otherwise its fine. Does anyone know whats wrong?

Yes... your HID's are discharging your battery. You need a min amount of Cold Cranking Amps for the starter (don't know how much but I'm guessing at least 500)... and by running your HID's for 10 min (WOW) what do you expect. ... I would not leave mine on for more than 3min without the car on.

Same thing happens with folks who have an audio setup and leave that running for a while without the car on (of course without any battery upgrade).

Why would you leave your headlights on without the car running in the first place?

Your HIDs don't automatically shut off after a few minutes with the car off? I have a '00 and they automatically shut off after a few minutes.

no, i don't own a TL so the lights dont shut off.

I leave the lights on because I build custom HID's. I need to keep the lights on for lenghty periods of time during the build process.

Oh, ok. Yeah, the HIDs will kill your battery.

You should use a battery charger and check.

BTW, the Accord forums isn't informative enough?

You can install a headlight saver that will turn off the headlights automatically

My 03 TLS has the automatic headlights so you can leave them on and they'll automatically cut off 15 seconds after you get out the car.
Does this cause problems for the car not starting too? Even with auto off headlights??

if you need to keep lights on, connect them to battery charger. Best way.

That's why we have automatic off. To prevent discharging the batteries if you by any chance forget to turn off your lights.
