Car suddenly shaking when in park/rolling.

Suddenly my '99 TL engine is shaking and when I'm rolling it is not a smooth role. Also my check engine & TCS light came on as soon as this problem started. Could it be my spark plugs that I replaced a few months ago, there Bosch. I want to go out and get the NGK's but I also want to make sure Spark Plugs could cause this problem since there going to be $50.

Note: Current plugs are Bosch Platinum Plus (#4030) installed over a month ago, no problems besides a dead ignition switch which was fixed by Acura.

If The check engine light came on, ur car must have registerted a code in the computer. Get an OBD II scanner, or go to ur local mech shop, have them pull the code out; some of them can even help u out fo free.

Don't put Bosh plugs in. Go get the OEM NGK plugs.

put the OEM's in (NGK Iridium IX) and it still happens, check engine light on and when rolling it is not smooth, very 'jerky'. Definetly saw one of the old sparks was black and misfiring...Now I think its the socket that holds the spark plug in....what do you guys think? I'm going to pickup that socket tomorrow from Acura and switch out the bad one that probably now has a black spark in there so another spark may be necessary.

I've gone through this before and followed the instructions on how to find a bad coil and it worked for me in the past, again this weekend had the same symtoms and did the coil test again and found the bad coil, replaced it and unfortunatly this time I'm still getting the same symtoms, not sure what else to do, anything else you guys think it could be? Symtoms are, stuttering, less power, fumbles when I start it and CEL and TCS light on.

I'm having this issue AGAIN, after 1 year of no problems!!! TCS/CEL light came on and my car rumbles when idle/parked and the RPMs hop between 1/2 and 1. Should I get the check engine light checked again, or assume its something with the spark plugs/coils...

Go to Murray's and get yourself a free OBD scan and see what codes you throw. Also, not sure if its related in any way but did you get the Ignition Safety Recall service done on your '99? There is a TSB for it and you should've gotten a letter in the mail regarding it..

We don't have Murray's in New York. We have Autozone which I tried to go to 2 of them but the employees are some of the dumbest on earth and nobody has or knows where the OBD machines are. I'm going to inspect the sparks/coils now and go from there...

Ok so after inspecting, I found a spark that smelt like gas and looked like it was not sparking therefore I switched out that 1 coil...started the car up and it sounded like it was back to normal. The TCS light went off however the check engine light stayed on (now solid, whereas before replacing the coil it was blinking).

I went to yet another autozone today to get the codes read and it came up with 5 cylinders misfiring!?!? I don't understand though, because my Acura sounds like it is running normal, on all cylinders yet my light is still on...

any help!?

you forgot to reset the ECU so the computer can do a self test and clear the light
Pull the clock fuse on passenger side of cabin and reinsert- start car

lol i dont now why people think Bosch is a bad Brand for our cars? NGKs are Soooooo Overpriced 11 bucks for a single Plug (The OEM one Iridium IX)? F&$# them!!!! i have the Iridium Bosch +4 Platinium (7$ea) in there for 2 years now, never had a problem in my last seafoam they became brand new again!!!!

because the car can detect a misfire even if it seems like its running normal

Because in the past MANY had issues with them. Most couldnt get them to last half a year without misfire and poor mileage.

Oh and you can get the NGK plugs for around 7 bucks too.

Thanks all, computer reset itself after driving 50miles or so and the light went off...Hopefully I won't have to be on this forum anytime soon (seeing as I only come with problems!)

Thanks again!
