Exclamation car broke down today need help

today i went to the park with my gf and we sat in the car and talked for about an hour and my car was just on (it wasnt started) the radio was on but the volume was off all the way and my amp that draws 2000 watts was on too. when i tried to start my car after a hour it would not crank.. when i went to my buddies house and came back after 20 mins to check the car it started fine, other then a tiny bit of struggle (not that noticable)... i did put regular octane gas today i dont know if that makes a difference. and when i was driving home now the auto up/down driver window doesnt work anymore

Maybe check your battery terminals? Might have a lot of crap on it and have a loose connection.

The auto-up/down window does stop sometimes when you change your battery, if I recall correctly. There is a way to reset it but I don't remember the procedure.

The gas shouldn't have been a problem.

u drained the battery, and later it had enough volts in it to start the car. i would not do that again for that long. gas doenst matter. u had to do the window switch relearn process, also u have to do the memory seat thing again.

And why would you leave a car with a 2000 watt system on for an hour?

Does it startup fine now? Have the battery checked out and see if it is dead.

car battery seems to last 3-4 years
What you describe is symptoms of dieing battery
Go to any parts store and get a free charging system test
With a big stereo you need a bigger battery to sit parked and have it running

dang you talk to your gf in the car for an hour at the park? you guys fighting? I hope so. But sounds like your battery is crapping out on you, check the date on it and also pushing that much power is not going to help its lifespan. Go buy a new battery at costco, its pretty cheap.

to relearn ur auto up/down window, you have to press and hold the button down after its all the way down for an extra 3 secs. and the same for the way back up.

that battery gave a warning to you-
now that its fully charged from the machine plus an hours driving-
take it to any parts store for a full test of the battery and charging system

its the battery, alternator, and voltage regulator that make up the charging system

When you have it tested: they check if the alternator puts out the proper amount of juice to place into the battery electricity used by headlights, fan etc being on

It checks if the voltage regulator stops juice from going into the battery at a certain voltage limit, and opens again when it drops below a set threshold

The battery has to maintain against a load and recover
Each cell in the battery has to be at spec voltage, one cell goes bad and the whole thing fails

you could replace a battery and still have a bad alternator-
only way to know for sure is testing the system

then you pay a shop to do an electrical system test-
The tradeoff for that healthcare eh! no free parts testing~

No, your jumper or other stuff at home wont work for the info we need from the system on its performance

if you have parts stores that sells car battery, they should have a machine to do the testing
