Car break in leads to another problem...

So my drivers side window got smashed friday night, looks like theif tried to go between the window molding and door frame and then got fed up and just smashed the window. luckily my windows are tinted and the film held the shatter proof glass pieces together so they couldnt actually get into the car or anything. so luckily nothing stolen, just having to pay about $220 for a new window and tinting.

anyways, i was wondering if my alarm even went off (seems like it would if a window is broken) so i tried to set it off myself a minute ago and realized that my alarm consists of my headlights flashing repeatedly. this makes sense because when i lock/unlock my car the lights just flash, no honk or anything.

so someone tell me that its just a fuse, or connection or something that is really simple to fix please..

the horn should go off. The alarm WONT go off by breaking glass. The door has to be opened.

okay, well that sucks that the alarm doesnt go off for broken glass. but when i tried to trip the alarm i: locked the doors with key fob, then reached in and pulled up on the lock and opened the door. headlights flash. no horn.
but my horn doesnt go off when i lock/unlock with keyfob either (i believe it is supoed to) so thats why i think theres a link which is broken

when you hit the key fob twice to lock the doors it should make a "beep" sound. but it should send the alarm off when you reach in and unlock it.

yea but if you go into the river with your car and the windows wont go down cause of a short then even a center punch wont work. its a death trap. I live near a large river and people drive along the levy. So i hear about a car going into the water once in a while. even the rescuers wont be able to get you.
good for high crime areas or if you dont live near rivers or lakes.

PS i would recommend that you turn your headlights on when you're testing the alarm. flashing your hids is not good for the bulbs.

the horn works if you press the horn on the steering wheel

i tried the panic button, it still only makes the lights flash, no horn, no beep, nothing.
