Hi, I just came back from the thanksgiving holiday and try to start my 00 TL, when i turn my key in the ignition, I am able to turn on the radio and the battery, but it gets stuck when im trying to ignite the engine (the last "crank"). Anyone know whats the cause and how to fix it?? thz im a noob

It gets Stuck? WHAT? = the engine just won't crank? The key gets stuck?

 

if the key wont move to the last position, make sure your steering wheel is straight. hold it in position and try turning the key again.

 

its ur wheel noob, its child locked

 

Also, Make sure the gear is at "P" - Park. The car wont start unless the gear is in P or N.

 

It wouldnt even let you get to the radio positon if it was in the locked position.

check the battery connection, or get a jump start.

 

the key doesnt get stuck, i just cant get turn it to the start the engine, the radio and the lights and stuff works fine.

 

Turn your steering wheel to the right while turning the key..the your steer wheel is locked

 

will it go to the start position at all or it just stops before hand? make sure that its going all teh way or not. then let us know

 

Mine does.. if the wheel's locked, the auxiliary accessories are able to work.

 

Then id say your wheel isn't locked. If its locked that key is not supposed to turn at all. Once you move the wheel the slightest but then the key is allowed to turn to all the positions

 

well i can go to start position, just cant start the car

 

no clicking to cranking or anything? Make sure the battery is good. If not id say its possibly the starter or starter solenoid.

 

Try pumping on the accelerator with your foot a few times

 

pumping the gas wont do nething considering its EFI

 

• Went out to start my car this morning. It's about ~40F.
• The key goes in, but WILL NOT turn anything.
• Battery is ok, all lights work.
• Releasing the foot E brake does nothing. Car does not move at all.
• We unlocked the transmission (by sticking the key in the little cutout to the right of the shifter.)
  • As a result, the car rolled back 6 inches and is now wedged up against the curb.
  • Steering wheel is also locked.
• This happened once before, and I just tried the key 3 or 4 times while pumping the break.

ANY help is immensly appreciated.

Of course, I have a car show to go to at 10:15...

check ur ignition wires mine somehow got disconnected
