didnt we already give you the master diy list link?

on cabin filter- comes 2 filters in a box for under 20 bucks- they sit side by side in a plastic holder when installed

ones with antibacterial or odor control have advantages over plain paper

on directions: no need for dremel to cut the small tabs holding cover over the filters
cut one sides with kitchen scissors or garage tool, bend panel back and forth and the other side tabs break off
To reinstall panel it goes sideways from original- has slip in tab and 1 screw to hold in place when done
dont worry that it doesnt cover the filters--its made that way

hopefully its been changed before so no cutting needed.
Do use the shop vac to remove leaves and unknowns from the vent lines

Hey 01tl4tl

Have you tried the Air Filters with Charcoal (Anti-Bact + Odor)?? BOSCH Sells them for the 2G at 49.99 bucks But I dunno if the Extra 35 Bucks are worth it.

last time, I purchased Bosch antibacterial- 17$! local parts store

you can add charcoal to it if you want, a bottle from drug store is a few dollars, just rub some into the paper pleats
Also good for hangover~,,,or travellers revenge...(stomach expelling contents at High speed)
hospitals make you drink a cup of it w/water,,, before pumping stomach on OD cases,,,

No, its not grilling charcoal!!! `activated charcoal`
its an exellent `absorber` of toxins in many forms

you could probably use baking soda and get similar effect

my suggestion based on what I use- anti-bacterial/anti-microbial spray added (bosch, maybe others) thats going to kill or stop pollens and really bad stuff from getting thru.

beyond that, is just air feshening stuff-- you have other choices on how to deal with
for way fewer dollars = box of baking soda, drops of essential oils on cotten ball in ziplock under seat,
Ozium spray if you want to kill anything from barf to cigarette smells --instantly

basic paper filters work well enough- if you dont live in areaas with constuction or you have allergies. In those examples- the better the filter the better you will feel after driving
I even use a small negative ion generator plugged into the `not a lighter`

Purolator has a $5 Rebate going on right now on their Cabin Air Filters. I've used them in the past without issue

http://www.purolatorautofilters.net/...cialoffer.aspx

They also have rebates on their Oil Filters and Air Filters as well

Air outside is circulating constantly. Once dust/dirt/pollen get stuck in the filter, it stay there. Doesn't take long for mold/mildew to form and come out of your vents.

If it gets clogged it can restrict the passage of air- hard on the motor, less volume of air gets circulated, lower system efficiency.

sounds like someone who has not changed the filter yet!

afterwards.. you decide to wear a mask while outdoors, and replace cabin filter way more often!!
that black crud on the paper--otherwise would be on your lungs!
