A/C Need Help

A/C Need Help

Whenever i try to turn on my a/c nothing comes out, not even when i turn off the a/c. No matter what setting i put it on no air will blow out of the vents? Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or what i could do about it?

check your fuse, if nothing is blowing out, than you may have a blown fuse.

If not the fuse, check the connection behind the glove box.

Obviously it could be a fuse or a connection but that not being the case it is most likely the blower motor. You may end up replacing that but if it went straight from working great to not working at all i bet a fuse, etc is the cuplrit and not a motor.

Do some checking and post back what you find.

Well if anyone is interested the climate control unit has a self-diagnosis function.
may be this will give u some error code you can work with.

Here's the steps from the services menu
1) Turn the ignition switch ON (the number II position)
2) Press the AUTO button and then the OFF button Continue to hold both buttons down for 1min

If there is any problem in the system the temperature indicator will light up the segment (A through N) corresponding to the error. The temperature indicator will then alternate every second between display "88" (all segments lit) and the error code segment (A through N)

Note: The system will only display the DTC when the AUTO and OFF buttons are pressed. If you release the buttons, the display will go blank. To return the display simply press the AUTO and then the OFF buttons again.

I've searched numerous threads in this forum on Diagnostic Troubleshooting Codes for the Climate Control in 2nd Gen TLs. In all of them it appears that any picture or image of what the codes mean have been removed. I then googled on many variants of climate control code for 2nd Gen TLs and can't seem to find anything explaining what the codes mean.

I have an error code that I believe is a "C" as in the lower right segment of the first digit flashes between the "88" readings. I'd like to know what this code is indicating. I've checked the wiring harness it looks to be in good condition. My symptoms are that there appears to be a dead zone sometimes when setting the temperature at a comfortable setting between 68 and 75. The only way to correct it seems to be either to turn it all the way up or down. Then it seems to correct itself.

I've read that the connector and transistor have been a typical problem. But would like to get some confirmation of the DTC.
