Burning oil?
Hey,
i noticed lately that my 2000 TL with only 48000 miles on it was starting to smell like burning oil once in a while. I checked the oil and it was very low. Would anyone know what is wrong?
Thanks

well.......did you recently get an oil change? can you open the hood, make sure the oil cap is tight, look under the car and see if the drain bolt is tight and not leaking, see if the oil filter is tight and not leaking. if all that is out of play, well, look around the engine for oil? your still under warranty, go to acura.
If you can smell burning oil, the chance is that the oil has dripped onto the exhaust manifold and got burnt off giving the smell. Open the hood and check around to see if there is any trace of oil on the engine block near all gasket seals. If you can, also check the oil pan gasket seal. If your engine is really burning oil, you won't be able to smell it, but you can see blue smoke whenever you step on the gas.
