Post BRAKES FIXED...FREE

I know a lot of people complained about their brakes sucking (warped)...I got them fixed at the dealer for free...I went in sounding like I knew what was up...mentioned the service bulletin and they said they would fix it for free...VERY smooth now...I almost forgot how they felt when I first got the car...hehehe
Also, I had about 100 miles before the warranty was up, but they fixed it anyway...
Thank God for this forum...

I dno't know what else...but I am sure you can get the stuff on the service bulletin done for free...good luck
Always mention the service bulletin...my dealer said that they had to check on some database, and when he came back...he said the brakes were no charge to resurface, and upgraded pads were free...
He also mentioned that the original pads used were shitty, so I got the new pads in the free service...

You can't just show up at the dealer and tell them to fix everything on the service bulletin list.

It has to be proven that the issue exists first. Remember it's not a recall.

All I said was:

"I was surfing the web, and stumbled onto some information on alldata.com, and noticed that there were many problems with the TL. The brakes were on that list, and I feel vibration when I brake; especially when braking at high speeds."

Then I mentioned this forum, and told him that many other TL owners have gotten their rotors replaced or resurfaced. Then he went to check on their "database" and came back to tell me that, the brakes are, indeed, a trouble area for the TL, and that they would check mine. Initially, I went in for an oil change...After having looked at the brakes, the service guy told me that the rotors are resurfaceable, and that they would resurface it, and upgrade the pads...I played dumb, and asked how much it would cost...He said NO CHARGE...I was like..."YES!!!!"
It was pretty simple...mention the service bulletin, mention other people (on this forum) have similar complaints, and you should be good to go...

I was really hoping for new rotors, but I guess I didn't screw up the rotors enough...DARN!!!!

I am sure there are limitations, but in my case, they didn't ask ANY questions, they just fixed it based on what I told them...Also, I don't know what "databse" he checked on, but he said the brakes were a problem area, and that it would be fixed NO charge...I should have fixed other things, too, but the brakes were the only problems that I had...
