"Brake Light" light wont turn off ?
Ok so i just installed 02-03 50/50 tail lights on my 2000 tl, i kept my stock wiring harness just replaced the lamps, after hooking them up and turning them on i noticed one of the bulbs broke by accident idk how, so i replaced it with no problem, every single light works on m car,i even took out and re did the tail lights and wiring, no wires pinched or anything. i tried disconnecting the battery and everything, i cant get the "battery light" light off... any suggetions or answers? lol

left key/tunes on while working on the car and killed the batt?
will it take a jump? (I discourage jump start- forces alt to work too hard charging dead battery)
or carry the batt into parts store where they will charge it up and test for FREE
If its more than 3-4 years old and not a super performance battery you purchased- expect bad news
if needed- I got excellent service at Batteries Plus, they even fully charge each new batt as it comes off the truck, so its really ready to go
Unlike major stores where it may sit for several months on the shelf, was never fully charged to start with at the factory--just enough to test it,
then you have to drive around charging it off the aternator for an hour till its good

Battery light on the gauges should mean that the charging voltage is lower than it should be. Might be an indicator of a problem with the charging system, rather than the battery itself. When my old optima was dying on me, no light ever showed. It would just take a bit longer to start.
Did you check the charging system voltage yet? Might be a good place to start.

Yes sir...I've seen this before and it's been the little sensor that pops back out when you press the brake pedal. It is the black little push button switch that . Check to see if it's shorting out or if a wire came loose. Normally, I have seen the problem the other way around...but who knows.
Also, on older accords, there was a module on one of the tails that actually controlled all the brake lights. Not sure if it's true on the 2G, but another place to check.

all my brake lights work, i located the switch, its not stuck it pops out when i push the brake.. should i still replace it? will it deff fix the problem? i can fix it in 10 min if i need to but i dont wanna waste the $ on the switch, how do you adjust it?... (( i probly should have stated this but forgot, the blinker socket in the 02-03 taillights are different from the 99-01 taillights so i had use electric tape and wrap it up, its legit though it all works... could that cause this light to be on? which sucks im like a perfectionist i hate when check lights are on lol ))

wait, the check lights light is on? or the lights are actually stuck on?
well, good way to test the switch is get under there and have someone stand behind the car and tell them to yell out if they are on or off...manually jiggle the wires to it and press and let go of the pedal. See if you can find a faulty wire.
BUT, that said...I'm wondering about this rewiring you just did...you had no problem and now you changed lights and you have a problem. Sounds to me like maybe something doesn't jive.

yes, there is 2 "brake" lights on the dash, one that says "BRAKE" and one that says "BRAKE LIGHTS", only light on my dash that is lit up is the "Brake Light" Light... and my brake lights work behind my car, the blinkers work, the reverse lights work, & the 3rd brake light in my back window works,, after installing the new lamps (same wiring harness) i noticed 1 bulb was blown in the process ( causing my "brake light" light to come on), so i changed it,now, again, every light works, my car starts and runs, no physical difference at all, just cant seem to get this light to turn off, i reset the computer and everything, YO NO SE! lmao ( when i said re wire*, by that i just meant i took the tail lights back out, un clipped the harness and put everything back nice and neat, nothing special )

and no the lights (taillights/brake lights) are not stuck on, they work exactly how they should be working, the light on my dash comes on when i push the brake, & stays on til i turn the car off... , sorry for the longgg paragraph lol! just trying to be clear as possible, i appreciate the help

oh, then abort my mission...I misunderstood. Does the bulb go in in 2 different ways (the blown one)? Is the new bulb the same as the old one? Double filament etc?!?! Did you try resetting your car by pulling the negative on the battery?
#16
Im not sure, they might actually be different bulbs, im gonna go buy all new bulbs today, cheap fix, hopefully lol.. and yep i did the reset twice, took the negative wire off yesterday, and again thismorning... same thing... im hoping its a bulb problem.. could it be due to the fact i had to electrical tape the blinkers into the hole of the lamp?, because the hole on the 03 taillight is bigger than the hole on the 2000 taillight...my buddy whos a mechanic said no, so i jus overlooked that..

Got same problem after replacing my 99 TL tail lights by 03 taillight. I used old harness and all my bulbs still working fine. I dont understand why the "brake lamp" light turn on? Please help

If the "Brake Lamp" warning lamp wasn't previously on....then recheck your work, especially the bulbs, connectors and grounds for the newer tail-lights. Is the hi-mount OK ?
