Brake Light come ON????

I started to notice my brake light started to pop up when i take off from light. The last 4x-5x when i complete stop at red light, an when it turn Green I step down on the gas (my take off) My BRAKE lights turn on an stay on until i let gas off them finally turn off. The longer i had the gas pedal down the longer stay on. Has anyone ever have this Problem??? I have also step on release emergency brake 3x to 4x to see if it was stuck.

^ check you brake fluid level - this seems to the number one cause for this.

If that is fine - you could also check your lights - it's possible you may have a loose connection

Could be your reservoir float. Same thing happened to me and I took it to the dealer. Turns out there was a bulletin out on faultly resouier floats. They replaced under warrenty. I think it's a bad idea to just add brake fluid without proper diagnostic. Just my

I had similar problem in the past. The brake light is on for the first 5 - 10 minutes of driving. Guess what ?!? The brake fluid is low. I just added a bit of brake fluid...and the problem was gone.

Yep, brake fluid won't disppear by itself unless the system has a leak or the brake pad(s) has worn down.

Brake fluid may not be low, just congealed from the cold, once it heats up the sensor reads it as ok.

My guess would be that you are low on fluid. When you hit the gas and the fluid goes to the back of the resevoir the light comes on. Try going around 25-30 mph in 2nd (in SS mode) and hit the gas hard so it throws you back in your seat...then see if the light comes on. If it does then it is more than likely fluid level. If that's it, I would definitely check your pads for wear and all your lines for leaks. One of the two is the reason your fluid is low.

Geez, it'd be easier to just open the hood and look at the reservoir.

Same thing has been happening with me. When i first start the car the brake light is on but once i start moving it turns off. I just noticed it yesterday and tomorrow I am going to check the level. I was thinking of having it flushed when i get my oil changed because i am on my 2nd set of brakes (87k) and have never touched the fluid.

Yeah, I guess you're right!! It sounds long and drawn out but you figure he drives everyday so it wouldn't be any trouble.

Yea most likely the fluid level is low or the float is getting hung up a little. Just take the cap off and check the fluid level, and that the float moves freely

Thats exactly what I did. Took the cap off added a tiny drop of brake fluid and wiped the float and the tube it rides on. Now it floats alot more freely and the light hasn't been back on since. Thanks!!
