the only place to get them is Acxura. No one makes a hood strut for us other than the OEM ones. I went to about 5 major auto parts stores and they all told me the same thing.

got mine off of ebay from Acura of Escondido ... actually I had to call them directly and they just treated it like an ebay order ... i think like $20 for the pair, I replaced then in literally under 5 minutes (VERY EASY!). No one in town had them except the local dealerships which wanted more than double.

I went to a bunch of shops around the Long island, Brooklyn areas and couldnt find anything in stock or even to order. Finally i got mine from acuraoemparts.com for about $20 each. They're actually gonna arrive tomorrow so I might make a bootleg little DIY for them. There really isnt much to it, but why not right?

I got my hood shocks today and popped them in. Takes no time at all, all you need is a flathead screw driver. You'll see a metal band on each end of the clip, just pry it up the strut will pull off. Its easier to start with the top one and then when the bottom because the lower one faces inward. Thats basically it.

someone suggested that i use just a damper on one side, and apply pressure right where the damper meets the hood to close it. might have to seeing as getting oem psi is near impossible, the acura techs couldnt even help me
I replaced them last night. Took only 10 mins most of which was just cleaning the ball joint. you don't need to take the clips right off, only half way to get the shocks out. Make sure to apply some sort of heavy grease on the joint before putting the new shocks back on.
