Black mesh grille

Any recommendations for a source for non-stock grilles for my 99 2G? An unrelated thread by Subtledreamer shows a subtle black mesh insert with only the logo - void of the crossbar. As a new member - I cannot contact any one person directly.

Ideas are appreciated.

they are quite hard to find.. I followed subtledreamers DIY and was happy with the result. He only left out the crossbar or "wings" as i like to call it by choice.. you can leave them on and still have the mesh grille but IMO the car looks more aggressive without the wings

Yep. Same here. And yes, IMO as well, the car DEFINITELY looks more aggressive without the "wings". It has a really clean look to it, and I think most members on here would agree. I also debadged my trunk, and put the 3.2TL emblem in the front grille, but of course, all of this is optional.

There's also a mod for the chrome trim piece around the edges of the front grille. It can be sanded down and painted to match the body color of the car. I personally haven't done this mod yet, but it's certainly on my list.

Good luck with your project! Try to post pics of your project. I, and most likely others, would like to see the outcome.

I actually ended up removing the 3.2TL emblem, inserting the mesh, and reseting the 3.2TL emblem in the top right corner of the grille. It looks amazingly clean now!

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/home.jsp is awesome for parts. prices are usually under your dealer parts departments' list prices.

and good luck with the black mesh grill mod. i just did it lastweekend and what a pain. taking it off and disassembling is a breeze but cutting and fitting that damn mesh was a pain in the ass. got my plastic gutter gaurd in a roll 6"X32" i think, i know it was 6"Xsomething, at lowes for like 4 dollars.

If you do the subtledreamer style its an easy cheap mod. I almost did it but just painted the wings instead

Only cost my ~$5 to do.. $2 for the gutter guard and $3 for the black spray paint (which you already might have laying around)

Your grille and engine bay are tight. I have a SSM CL-S, and I wish it looked as good as yours. BTW I like what you did with the "A" on the grille.

Rajca: Sick engine bay. Flows well with the car and the color theme you picked.

I have a 99TL, and for about 4-5 months had the mesh grill mod done. I had to repaint it so I went back to the stock grill for a week. Well after that, I never put the mesh back in. I think the stock grill flows really well with the whip and completes it more. However the Mugen is something else. Hahah
